Hyundai EP
Hyundai EP Founded in 1988 as a petrochemical division of the HDC group, it signed a technology transfer contract with Solvay Engineered Polymer in 1991, focusing on the development of advanced technologies, and in 1994 built a compound factory in Tanjin to begin the development and production of car bumpers and interior materials. Following the separation of the department from HDC, Hyundai Engineering Plastic was founded in January 2000, which sought to become an independent market. Hyundai EP is growing rapidly with 25% average annual growth since its inception in 2000.
Hyundai EP has four business units (BU polypropylene, BU polyethylene, PS / EPS BU and PB-1 PIPE BU). The Dangjin factory produces super engineering plastic, which can replace metals based on the company's accumulated technologies and experience, while the Jincheon factory focuses on the production of polyethylene blends, which are used for automobile rubber parts and electrical and electronic products, for coating steel pipes and adhesive materials, construction pipes, containers, etc.
The Ulsan Hyundai EP plant has EPS and PS production lines, as well as the Jochiwon Plant, after acquiring the building materials department from PEM Korea, designs and manufactures PB pipes that are great for energy conservation. Meanwhile, taking on the top market share in the automotive polypropylene market, with 25% average annual growth, Hyundai EP creates a richer future with ongoing challenges even in the top positions.
